Lock up

Lots of momentum while we’ve been away for spring break. Our house is now closed in and we have a key! ‘Lock-up’ means not only windows but doors in as well. The team has also framed our staircase so we can get between floors without having to clamber a ladder 🎉. This is particularly a hit with the kids who have been planning an under stair clubhouse.

We’ve gone with @westeckwindows for our main exterior doors. The patio doors are triple glazed to match our high performance windows (U-0.19, SHGC 0.11). Pretty happy with the hardware on these which is super solid! Our front door will go in last and is fiberglass – for now framing and transom windows are in place and a temp wood door with a lock.

Plumbing, HVAC, electrical rough-in have all seen major progress as well, with an electrical panel now installed! And the formwork for heat pump pedestal, stair landing pads and walkway are ready for a final (🤞) concrete pour next week.

Always great to feel like big strides are being made, even if the finish line is still a ways off. Big thanks to Morgan Grauer and the team at @twinlionscontracting for getting the work done, stacking trades and maintaining quality every step of the way.
