Deconstruction II

Deconstruction has been moving swiftly. Our roof is off, the back deck is dismantled and our backyard shed too.

There’s lots of high quality wood coming out of the process. With some luck, we may be able to re-utilize some of this wood for framing or to furr out walls. The materials we don’t reuse onsite are donated to Habitat for Humanity or Heritage Lumber with a tax credit issued.

With all the layers peeled back, we’re able to check the condition of what’s there and make some final decisions around design, scope and budget. Not the easiest or most enjoyable part of the process but hugely important to align on goals.
